Well I'm very proud to annouce that I am now a recommended wedding supplier for the lovely ladies at The Wedding Affair.

I've exhibited at a couple of wedding fairs now but I have not seen one as stylishly and professionally arranged as the fairs put on by Lisa & Allison. So naturally I wanted to get involved. These ladies don't just except anyone so to be listed with them felt like quite an honour, sort of a badge of achievement! Anyway, they asked me to photograph the last fair at the simply stunning Swinton Park and here are the results. I hope they can tempt you to come along to their next fair, for more details see their website: The Wedding Affair

Danby Castle recommends Lissa Alexandra Photography
18th August 2011 - 0 comments
I couldn't resist telling you about this testimonial. It's from the lovely Carolyn at Danby Castle. She very kindly wrote these words about me:

‘Lissa has an amazing ability to capture more than ‘just a picture’, she captures the emotion and whole essence of the day. She has the couples and all the guests totally at ease and because of this the results are truly stunning. I cannot recommend her highly enough and look forward to Lissa shooting many more weddings at Danby Castle’
Carolyn Bavister, Owner Danby Castle Events.

Cheers Carolyn.xx

The Year of the Kates
11th August 2011 - 0 comments
Earlier this year we were wowed by Kate & Will’s regal ceremony, well the latest Kate to take the limelight was Miss Moss. With Mario Testino (only in the supermodel world) taking the wedding snaps she looked amazing as ever. Well the photos have now been released… so for that little bit of celebrity inspiration here’s the link:

I don’t mean to blow my own trumpet but toot toooot!!! I’ve just received another unsolicited testimonial from one of my wedding couples. Here’s what they had to say:

‘Dear Lissa, hope you are well. We would like to thank you for all your help taking the photos on our wedding day. We have seen the ones you have downloaded on Facebook and they are so beautiful! Everybody commented on how nice and professional you were. We’ll definitely call you again for the next party and will recommend you to all our friends/family in England. Best regards, Craig, Mayte & Paula’

It was my pleasure
What a Testimonial!
21st July 2011 - 0 comments
I've just received the loveliest testimonial from Fran & James regarding their wedding I shoot on Saturday 9th July. Here are her kind words:
'I cannot thank Lissa enough. We were keen to not have just 'the typical' wedding photographs and more wanted great artistic photos, that just happened to include us on our wedding day. And my word did we get that! I had never dared to imagine that our wedding photographs would be as beautiful as they are- they are breath taking. We are absolutely overjoyed with them. And Lissa is fantastic. In pre-wedding meets I showed her the style of photos I liked, thinking we may get one or two that we liked, but Lissa blew them all out of the water- producing shot after shot- far better than those that I showed her. I just can't believe these are OUR wedding photos- everyone is blown away with them. And not only are we happy (understatement of the century!) with the photos, but we can't fault the way Lissa worked. So many photographers muscle their way in front of the guests- but not Lissa- she so subtle that we and our guest didn't even notice her snapping away. Thank you a million times Lissa- I will be firmly recommending you to everyone I know (and even those I don't!).'
Thanks Fran & James, I couldn't have done it without you guys being such a fun loving pair.xx
Lissa Alexandra is Featured in Top Wedding Blog
21st July 2011 - 0 comments
Woo Hoo! Today I’m totally stoked about being featured in the popular wedding photography blog ‘Photography 1827′. I love this blog, it doesn’t feature your ‘run of the mill’ wedding photographers but image takers that specialise in fine art and documentary. It was such an honour when Kathryn (blog author) said she wanted to feature an article on my last wedding.

I am pleased with the shots but I have to say there’s no way I would have been able to achieve them without having such a fun couple as Fran & James. The venue also played a large part. Carolyn at Danby Castle presents the venue so beautifully and with Fran’s props I couldn’t have asked for more. Have a peek and see what you think.

A Taste of Vintage L.A Photography
12th July 2011 - 0 comments
Last Saturday saw me visiting a remote spot on the North York moors named Danby Castle. A former residence of Catherine Parr, this unique building dates back as far as the 1300′s! Far more importantly I’m sure Fran and James will agree is it was the chosen venue for their wedding day.

The weather had mixed fortunes, however, the cherry on the cake was a picture perfect rainbow under which the couple posed. F &J were great fun and up for anything! I had James leapfrogging over Fran, the chap’s striking their best country gent poses and the couple serving their guests ice cream from an impromptu ice cream van! Their spec for the photos was vintage fun. If you’d like to see more go to ‘Lissa Alexandra Haines’ on Facebook and request friendship to access my photo albums. See you there.x
On Location at Thorpe Hill Farm with the BBC’s Country File Team
08th July 2011 - 0 comments
Yesterday was a good day. Working with animals and children, media’s biggest ‘no no’ turned out to be a pleasant surprise!

I was invited by Bluestone Design to do a lifestyle shoot at Thorpe Hill Farm. This old pig farm is re-inventing itself as a traditional working farm/ visitor attraction. When we got there however, I wasn’t the only person with a camera! Jules Hudson (Escape to the Country presenter) and the Country File team had turned up too. My role was to capture all the goings on. Whilst the camera crew were filming we had some children brought along for the shoot and they were handed baby pigs, chickens, rabbits to play with. It really was the sweetest site and I got to hold a two day old piglet, awww! But I have to say my main highlight of the day was having my photo taken (for a change) with the presenter, very nice chap!

Emily & Matt's Norfolk Broads Wedding
23rd May 2011 - 0 comments
I'm back from Emily & Matt's wonderful wedding in Horning in the Norfolk Broads. What a truly beautiful place to get married. For their reception they had the great idea of cruising the broads on a paddle boat. It was hailed a huge success by all, what a party!
All steam ahead for a wedding cruise!

This weekend I've got the privilege of shooting Emily & Matt's quirky wedding on the Norfolk Broads. They're having a church ceremony, boat club wedding breakfast and an evening cruise on the fabulous Mississippi Paddle Steamer, can't wait! I'll get the photos up as soon as I'm back.
